Puerto Rico has an area of 5,324 sq mi (13,790 km²), of which 3,515 sq mi (8,870 km²) is land and 1,809 sq mi (4,920 km²) is water. As an unincorporated territory of the United States, Puerto Rico does not have any first-order administrative divisions as defined by the US Government, but has 78 municipalities at the second level.
